Getting to Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf is easily accessible by both train and plane.

By Train
Düsseldorf’s main station is called Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof. It offers excellent rail connections not only to other major German cities but also to destinations in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, and France.
From Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof, you can also reach the nearby airports “Düsseldorf” (DUS) and “Köln/Bonn” (CGN) by train.

By Plane
Travelling to Düsseldorf by plane is straightforward, thanks to the city’s own airport (DUS). If there are no direct flights from your departure location to Düsseldorf, you may consider flying into Köln/Bonn Airport (CGN) or Frankfurt Airport (FRA).
From CGN, regular regional trains (marked RE or S) run to Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof.
From FRA, most travellers opt for high-speed trains (marked IC or ICE) to reach Düsseldorf quickly. While regional trains are also available, they take considerably longer- usually 3½ hours or more.
